Last weekend was pretty active - we went for a bushwalk in the forests of Paris. Forests you ask? Indeed there are several and they are quite close by. Franziska, our social coordinator took us out to St Germain-en-Laye where we first visited a chateau (every good town in France seems to have one) and then wandered through bushland (and even bush bashed a little) to Maison Laffitte. When we noticed a man with a basket, we knew that goodies couldn't be too far away. We weren't disappointed.
Mel and Barb took a boat trip along the Seine with her friend Georgie and family. Interesting fact: the Bateau Mouche is owned by the Communist Party in France. You'll note that since France is currently the President of the EU, there's a nice EU symbol on its main monument. Further, here's the often forgotten sister of the Statue of Liberty in NY.
Sunday was the Festival of Ganesh where for one day out of the year, streets of Paris become little India. The parade involved dancers and large floats of Ganesh statues being pulled by hundreds of followers everywhere. So much colour and music and excitement made for a fantastic afternoon. Sorry for the tirade of photos but it was pretty interesting.

Are either of you doing any work? Sounds like it must be cheap and easy to travel in that part of the world!
that's quite interesting to know that they celebrate ganesh pooja in paris as well
I'm with Georgia, how is it possible that you're both constantly travelling?
